2013 has been a great year for Blaze Concepts that has seen us grow in number, present at MODXpo and launch some great web projects.

Our team has been strengthened by the addition of our team leader Jamie Payne, an experienced web design graduate who has brought in a wealth of design and web marketing experience. We have also welcomed another web designer – Andrew Cox who is going great guns as the client help and support guru.

Throughout the year we have completed some unique and exciting web projects including TagBakBlue ArmadilloNeil Spring and a couple that we are not allowed to mention… In the last quarter we have built and staged some incredible (no, game changing) projects (both client and in-house) that are due to launch early 2014. We are throwing off the bowlines and sailing away from the safe harbour.

We have continued to support deserving organisations including our old friends: Row2Recovery and the Not Forgotten Association and are also now working with Stand Against Violence.

In November we took our team over to Cologne for MODXpo; a two-day conference focusing on the MODX Content Management System. We presented on the topic of Custom Distros and how these can enhance your agency workflow. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. We are due to present at another conference in the summer and we’ll let you know about that soon.

As a company we have also grown emotionally and intellectually; we have learnt some really important lessons about client relationships. Yes the ball got dropped. Thankfully we had the moral fibre to pick it up and run again.

We are looking forward to 2014 – what the New Year brings to us will depend on what we bring to the New Year. Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365-page book so lets write a good one.

The journey is the reward.
